About Me:

I am a general practitioner with a special interest in women’s health and sports medicine. The focus of my practice is on preventative medicine and lifestyle change to promote health,  topics about which I am passionate. I try to set an example to my patients through the way in which I live my life. I am a passionate trail runner and running on the mountain is my ‘soulfood’ and my me time. I go to the mountains to rejuvenate and energise myself. I’m also an avid mountain biker and, apart from racing myself, take out ladies and children’s beginner groups to try and build up the wonderful sport of mountain biking and encourage more people to discover the joy of being outdoors. In my spare time I write. I’ve published 3 novels and numerous articles and short stories. Oh, and I’m also a wife and mother to two healthy, energetic and wonderful boys. I try to live fully every single moment of my life.

What do you love about your sport?

Everything. Absolutely everything. It would be an understatement to say that I’m passionate about every single aspect of trail running and mountain biking. I love that it gets people outdoors and enthusiastic about sport. I love the social aspect, and I know and promote all of the health benefits. On a personal level, I love challenging myself: the longer and tougher the race, the more I enjoy it. The more adverse the conditions, the steeper and more technical the hills…bring it on! I thrive on trying to find out just how far I am able to push my mind and body. Being in the mountain is a spiritual experience for me; it’s about personal growth and connecting with my God.

An Eagle, soaring free.
